FIELD GUIDE / RETURNING PLAYERS

Come back.
Leave the rush outside.

A WoW Forever starting point for returning players, with current beta caveats.

You don’t have to catch up on everything before enjoying anything.

First, find your friends

Coordinate faction and ruleset before creating a character. Forever is realmless, but grouping does not cross faction or ruleset boundaries. Normal, PvP, and Roleplaying are described for launch; Hardcore comes later. Check the official race-class matrix before choosing.

1. Choose one reason to log in

Pick a goal you can describe in a sentence: explore a place, reconnect with a friend, or see whether a class feels good. Let that goal decide what you ignore for now.

2. Get comfortable before getting ambitious

Look over your controls and abilities. Adjust text size and keybinds to suit you. Find a safe place to try a few actions. There’s no schedule to beat.

3. Agree on expectations with your group

If interruptions are likely, say so before joining. Choose plans your friends are comfortable pausing or ending. Group content can need uninterrupted attention.

Talents and Legacy: let them wait until you need them

Talents begin at level 10; Dual Spec is described at level 40, with trainer changes. This guide does not assume costs or unrestricted switching. Legacy spending is capped at 16 points per character at launch, and enough can be earned on one character. Alts are not required.

4. Leave a breadcrumb for next time

Before logging out, write a small note: where you are, what you were doing, and one thing to try next. Future you deserves an easy on-ramp.
